Jewelry Design Center (JDC)

“We Want To Be Your Jeweler For Life”

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you are searching for a group of people who will work with and for you to find exactly what you want, look no further. Jewelry Design Center (JDC) has an absolutely amazing selection of jewelry, and the staff is exceedingly helpful. The people at Jewelry Design Center makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door.

Since 1977, the company has the same philosophy which is when a customer leaves the store, he or she will go away completely satisfied, period. According to their loyal customers, it is what makes Jewelry Design Center (JDC) stand apart.

Jewelry Design Center opened in 1977 as Doug Toone Jewelry Manufacturing. Doug was what you might call the guy behind the guy, providing wholesale services to other jewelry shops in the area. Doug’s son Brian joined the JDC team in 1995 and is currently JDC’s President and CEO. Doug has taken a step back and Brian’s siblings have joined him in this potentially “lost art” of turning stories and emotions into gold — plus many other gems and precious metals — to the tune of about 1,200 tailor-made pieces per year.

First and foremost, they are jewelers. They began as a manufacturer for other outlets, and have since become the largest independent supplier of diamonds in the Northwest. Because they are jewelers and they make better buying decisions – this means better quality, better pricing, and knowing they can maintain and guarantee anything they sell for a lifetime. They remain a family business with their community in mind. They as a company believe in education, honesty, and providing the best customer experience possible. After all, they want to be your Jeweler for Life.

They are a full-service jeweler. In house custom design, manufacturing, and repair. They are working with some designers which are Rolex, Benchmark, Forevermark, Gabriel Bridal, Gabriel Fashion, G-Shock, TACORI, Gucci, Swiss Army Victorinox, Oris, Movado, Simon G, Hearts on Fire, Mikimoto, Roberto Coin, John Hardy, Verragio, JDC Handcrafted and more.

  • Largest full-service jewelry and watches store in the Northwest
  • An inventory that includes most of the industry’s top brands
  • An exquisite line of jewelry we design and manufacture ourselves
  • The largest selection of loose diamonds in the entire area
  • Customized design work and repairs by JA-certified craftsmen

Excellent service, great atmosphere, not pushy at all. It’s so fun to see the newly engaged couples coming in to look for their wedding and engagement bands. Or the families shopping for each other. Their selection of loose diamonds is decent and staff will work with you to find just the right one. You do not need to go to big jewelry stores that don’t make you feel welcome, come to JDC where they certainly treat you as one of the family.

They keep all of their servicing in-house so they never have to send your piece of jewelry away for months to fix and they do a lot of custom work in the house. They are a great local company to support! The quality of service and products is superb. Resizing is free for the first year and refinishing is covered for the life of the ring.

Jewelry Design Center is definitely a store that will educate you in your jewelry selections. These people know their diamonds and take the time to help you make the best choice for your needs. They also have a great selection of high-end watches and designer jewelry.

Diamonds

They are the largest independent supplier of loose diamonds in the Northwest. Every single diamond at JDC is hand-selected for their brilliance and value because industry standards (carat, cut, clarity and color) simply cannot define a stone’s performance.

Their diamonds are ethically obtained and purchased directly from the source. They work with sources in Africa, Russia, Belgium, Canada, and India to individually select every diamond they sell. Some diamonds can even be traced back to the exact location in the ground where they were discovered! JDC has more diamonds to choose from than any other local jeweler. Plus you will enjoy the highest quality, best prices, and unbeatable guarantee.

When you purchase a diamond and engagement ring from JDC, all maintenance including stone loss, sizing, polishing, rhodium plating, cleaning are free of charge for life. Let the company clean and check your ring every 6 months to ensure your piece stays in the best possible shape and catch problems before they start. This is the best warranty you will find out there.

Shape

It is often confused with the cut. Though diamonds are cut to create different shapes, and different shapes may lend themselves to either brilliance or clarity, the term “cut” refers to the way light is reflected throughout the individual stone through its facet arrangement.

Cut

The cut of a diamond determines its brilliance or sparkle. Each shape will be cut differently. Before a diamond is cut, the location of inclusions and flaws, the natural coloration, and the original shape of the rough stone are studied extensively. The stone facets are then mapped out and cut in a way that maximizes size, shape, and clarity. For optimal light performance and rarity, you will want a diamond that is cut neither too shallow nor too deep.

Clarity

A diamond is distinguished by its natural characteristics. Notated as a diamond’s clarity, these characteristics can be present on the surface (blemishes) or within the stone (inclusions). The clarity is judged by the number and types of these characteristics and is designated using a scale that runs from Fl, defined as flawless, to I3, defined as inclusions visible with the naked eye. A flawless diamond is truly rare.

Carat Weight

The unit of measure used for the weight of a diamond is the carat. Carat weight can also be divided further by using points. When comparing two diamonds, please note that just because one is twice the carat weight of the other does not mean that it will appear to be twice the size.

Color

The natural body color of a diamond. Diamonds with less color allow more light to pass, releasing more brilliance and fire. The scale runs from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow). The less color a diamond exhibits, the higher the rarity, and therefore the higher the value.

Custom Jewelry Design

There is nothing quite like creating something uniquely you. As the largest jewelry design and manufacturing center in the region, JDC can create any custom piece you desire. From finding the perfect center stone to sketching up design ideas, this company is the expert so you don’t have to be. They do this every day and want to make the process worry-free.

Why should you choose a Custom Design?

  • You have the jewelry you no longer wear or jewelry is not your style
  • You have a collection of loose stones that you would like to use
  • You have specific imagery or symbols that are special to you
  • You would like to remake or restore an antique or estate piece
  • You experienced a deep loss you would like to memorialize
  • You cannot find the exact style you have been wanting

There are some necessities you should bring with you for your first appointment. These are any jewelry, stones, or metal you would like to use; sketches, Pinterest boards, or photos of inspiration; ring size, your imagination, and an open mind!

Designers of the company gently walk you through the process, work with your budget and timeline for your project, and be in constant communication using the methods that work best for you. Because they complete projects on-site, there is less waiting and you are able to see and interact with a wax version of your piece before jewelers start working on it, in case there are last-minute changes.

Timepiece Designers

Breitling 1884

Breitling has its very own place among watch brands: the highly exclusive ‘stronghold’ of technical watches, mainly chronographs. A longstanding partner of aviation, a field where reliability and precision play a vital role, the brand has always devoted premier importance to the quality of its products, designed to withstand intensive use in the most trying conditions.

G-Shock

G-Shock is the ultimate tough watch. It was born from a developer’s dream of “creating a watch that never breaks.” Guided by a “Triple 10” development concept, the design teams sought a watch with 10-meter free-fall endurance, 10-bar water resistance, and 10-year battery life. At a time when it was commonly believed that watches were breakable items, G-Shock’s development represented a challenge to common sense. Since launched, G-Shock has continued to evolve for more than 30 long years, carrying on the toughness of spirit and uncompromising passion that led its developers to persist in their unshakable belief.

Oris/ Swiss Made Watches Since 1904

A passion for mechanics is what makes Oris tick. Join Oris on an exciting journey through time to see why the mantra of the company (JDC) is Real watches for real people: quite simply, it is what they believe in and what they do. The four Oris worlds which are aviation, motorsport, culture, and diving are always the unifying forces. They underline the passion Oris has for each collection it produces.

Victornix Swiss Army
